Telangana: Operation to clean up Durgam Cheruvu begins

The GHMC has entrusted the work to Raheja as part of its corporate social responsibility at a cost of Rs 50.80 lakh.

Hyderabad: The operation to remove water hyacinth at Durgam Cheruvu began on Thursday. The GHMC has entrusted the work to Raheja as part of its corporate social responsibility at a cost of Rs 50.80 lakh.

This is being done ahead of the work on the Rs 187.5 crore cable bridge, which has to be completed in 18 months. The bridge needs 13 pillars and work on five has been completed. 

Rs 2 crore has been allocated for a 2.2-km cycling track around the lake. It will also get a children’s play park and yoga centre.
