Telugu Desam gets set for VMC polls

Vijayawada: All the elected district and urban committees of the Telugu Desam have been given the task of contributing their services for the victory of the Assembly segment candidates in their respective limits. The Vijayawada urban TD is given the additional task of assuring the victory of the party  in Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) elections.

Vijayawada TD urban president and MLC Budhha Venkanna has been entrusted with the responsibility of identifying the right workers in the three Assembly segments of Vijayawada East, West and Central, and guiding them for taking up various party activities. Similarly, keeping his track record in the winning of 37 divisions out of 59 divisions, the CM has endorsed him the responsibility of winning VMC elections this time also, with more divisions.

Now, the TD urban president is trying to find out the new generation party sympathisers and activists to get mor emileage in the 2019 electiomn battle. The CM has directed Mr Venkanna to concentrate more on getting majority for Vijayawada parliamnetary consituency. As such, Mr Venkanna has the support of three MLAs and MP Kesineni Nani. In the scenario to be changed in 2019 also, Mr Venkanna was asked to maintain the balance among the party cadres, a TD senior leader said. Speaking on the issue, Mr Venkanna said that he would mingle with all the people, irrespective of their caste, in order to achieve better results for the TD.

Vijayawada Central segment needs to be strenghtened keeping in view the recent political developments the took place in the city, a TD leader said. “For Mr Venkanna, it is a challenging assignment as he is being picked up for the third time as the party urban president though Vijayawada has a strong presence of Kamma leaders in the party,” he added.
