ACB complainant turns hostile, jailed 2 yrs

Hyderabad: An ACB court sentenced to two years in jail, a complainant, P. Narsing of Secunderabad, who turned hostile during the trial of a trap case. The court also imposed a penalty of Rs 3,000.

The ACB said they had registered a case in 2007 based on a complaint lodged by Narsing. During the trial, he turned hostile and gave false statements before the court. Following this, the accused was acquitted in 2016.

The ACB then filed a perjury case against the Narsing and the court allowed the petition filed by the ACB.

Elsewhere, the ACB on Thursday arrested Mantha Srinivas, forest beat officer, Kondapur, Kamareddy district, for accepting a Rs 20,000 bribe from a complainant, Tula Siddiramulu. The accused had sought the bribe to allow the complainant and villagers to construct a bridge on forest land and not reporting it to higher officials.
