Bengaluru: Hamid Ansari's wife visits flower show

Bengaluru: The first Sunday of the Lalbagh flower show for this year witnessed heavy rush with more than 50,000 visitors, including some VIPs.
"Outgoing Vice President Hamid Ansari's wife Salma Hansari spent two hours at the Lalbagh flower show on Sunday. Kannada literateur Devanur Mahadev also paid a visit. The footfall was extremely good," said Dr Jagadeesh, Deputy Director of Parks.
On Saturday, writers K.S. Nissar Ahmed and Poornachandra Tejaswi, along with his wife and daughter, were present. Around 38,781 adults, 6,084 children, 7,100 pass holders from the Horticulture society bought tickets to the bi-annual flower show on Sunday.
"We made a revenue of Rs 24.48 lakh on Sunday. In addition to being a weekend, the dramas on Kuvempu, a documentary of him in Kannada and English and the photo exhibition attracted a lot of people," Dr Jagadeesh said. The Lalbagh flower show will conclude on Independence day.
Traffic flow hit
Slow movement of vehicles was reported on all the roads connecting to the Lal Bagh from noon to evening on Sunday. However, the traffic police managed to normalise the movement of the vehicles later.
