76 answer scripts from Chennai zone to be sent to forensic lab
The DVAC is conducting the inquiry and they have taken all the answer scripts.
Chennai: The internal inquiry committee of Anna University has decided to send 76 answer scripts which had more than 15 per cent increase after revaluation in Chennai zone to forensic lab to test whether the answer scripts were manipulated.
The five-member committee is currently scrutinising all answer scripts from Chennai zone which had upward revision in April/May 2017 exams.
“These answer scripts having marks variation from 28 to 50 marks after revaluation. We suspect impersonation and forging the answer scripts during revaluation. To verify the handwriting, the committee has decided to send these answer scripts to forensic lab,” a source said.
The committee has already conducted inquiry with the examiners and other officials in charge for evaluation.
DVAC has filed a case against former controller of examinations in connection with the revaluation scam happened in the Tindivanam camp in April/May 2017. “The DVAC is conducting the inquiry and they have taken all the answer scripts.
Our inquiry will be a parallel internal inquiry,” source added. The inquiry committee will also scrutinise answer sheets from Tiruchi and Coimbatore zones.
“The scandal has happened in the previous year. We have already initiated the corrective measures. The guilty will not go unpunished,” Anna University Vice-Chancellor M.K. Surappa said.
