Abhimanyu murder: 1 held in Kochi
At least six persons are accused of directly involved in the murder.
Kochi: The police team probing the SFI leader Abhimanyu murder case on Monday arrested one more person. The arrested was identified as Rajeeb(25), son of Muhammed, a native of Nettoor, who was a unit leader of Campus Front of India (CFI) in Kochi.
According to cops, the accused was part of the killer-gang that attacked Abhimanyu at Maharaja's College on July 1. However the cops refused to elaborate further on his role in the murder. He was produced before the magistrate later in the day.With this, the total number of persons to be arrested in connection with the case has become 17.
Of this, at least six persons are accused of directly involved in the murder.
Even after arresting 17 of the accused, the investigation team is yet to find out who exactly stabbed Abhimanyu on his chest during the clash.
"Several persons are involved in the crime and we need a lot of questioning to get the exact details about the crime and hide-outs of the remaining accused. Anyway, they will be caught soon," said a senior police officer.
