Police seizes wireless sets from shop
Police got a secret information through the shadow police team that the firm was having wireless sets having access to police wireless communication.
Thiruvananthapuram : The police on Monday seized two wireless sets from a shop in the city that were suspected to have illegal access to the police wireless communication.
Though the incident triggered rumours that the wireless sets were used to track messages regarding the President's security arrangement, police sources said that it had no connection with President's security. Prima faice the wireless set were also not found to be leaking any information from the police wireless communication, said poli-ce soruces.
The wireless sets were seized form an automobile accessory shop nam-ed Off Road, Bullet Spares at Karamana here. The shop was run by one Roy. On the basis of a report sent by the police telecommunication wing, the Wireless Monitoring Station of the Ministry of Communication issued a notice to the shop owner seeking details. If the details are not satisfactory, further steps like registering a case would be initiated, said police sources.

Police sources said that the illegal use of wireless sets were becoming very rampant these days. Easy availability of walkie-talkie sets through online shopping sites is also a cause for concern.
