Revanth Reddy moves Hyderabad High Court, challenges Telangana land action

While contending that the allocation on nomination basis was illegal, he urged the court to stay the all the further activities on the subject land.

Hyderabad: Congress MLA A. Revanth Reddy has moved the Hyderabad High Court challenging the action of the Telangana state government and TSIIC in alienating 13.10 acres land at Gachibowli to International furniture Manufacturer IKEA India Pvt Ltd to establish a showroom near the Hitec City.

He alleged that the government has alienated the land without inviting the bids and the land was allocated on nomination basis, which was caused Rs 500 crore loss to the exchequer.

He submitted that the government has reserved 3.17 acres out of 13.10 acres to purchase by IKEA after 5 years by paying Rs 19.21 crore per acre and as off now the government has received only Rs 33 crore in this transaction. While contending that the allocation on nomination basis was illegal, he urged the court to stay the all the further activities on the subject land.
