Thrissur: 1,200 cops deployed for President visit
A total of 450 cops put on duty are from Thrissur.
Thrissur: As many as 1,200 cops have been deployed in Thrissur and Guruvayur to provide security during the visit of President Ram Nath Kovind on Tuesday.
A total of 450 cops put on duty are from Thrissur. Apart from the cops in the district, those from Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad and Idukki have been roped in for security and surveillance.
Thrissur Rang IG, M R Ajith Kumar, IG (Secu-rity) G. Lakshman, City Police Commissioner Yathish Chandra among other took part in the review meeting on security at Town Hall on Monday.
The helicopter carrying the President will touch down at the helipad at the Sri Achutha Menon Government College at Kuttanellur and he will reach St Thomas College by road for inaugurating the centenary celebrations. President will return to the helipad to fly to Guruvayur where the Indian Air Force Chopper carrying the first citizen will land at the Sree Krishna College ground at Ariyanoor.
Mr Kovind will be offing prayers at 12.45 p.m. at Guruvayur Sree Krishna Temple and at Mam-miyoor Siva Temple at 1.10 p.m. before leaving on helicopter at 2.05 to Kochi.
