Thiruvananthapuram: Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala has lashed out at PSC over the alleged exam fraud and demanded a CBI probe.

He said when the opposition pointed out nepotism in recruitments, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had accused them of deliberate effort to discredit the PSC.

He was reacting to PSC's internal vigilance probe confirming fraud by three SFI leaders and demanded debarring them for life from writing PSC and UPSC exams.

Mr Chennithala said the sabotage in PSC exams was now clear and if Mr Vijayan's police probes it, the truth would not come out.

“SFI leaders would certainly have got the help of the PSC chairman and its members," he said.

Mr Chennithala also wanted to know how the vigilance team could zero in on just the three former SFI leaders and sought clarification from PSC if similar malpractices had occurred in other exams too.

“The CM had defended the PSC earlier, and the media came under his flak. He also tried to protect those responsible when the police confiscated answer sheets from these leaders’ homes,” he added.
