According to the Nallakunta police, Abhinav Sawar, a Class 10 student in a private school, was out on his part time job as a newspaper boy. He lived in DD Colony Amberpet.

Inspector K. Murali-dhar of the Nallakunta police said, “Early Tuesday morning at around 6 am, he went to work. He was carrying a bundle of newspapers and kept it on the handle. As it was raining, he held the newspaper bundle with his right hand and was controlling the bike handle with his left. While taking a left turn he accidently went and rammed the footpath. Due to the impact he fell off the bike and sustained a severe head injury and died on the spot.”

The police has booked a case under Section 304(a) (causing death by negligence) and further investigation is on.

Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, the boy’s father S. Venkat Rao, a cable operator in Amberpet, said, “I have lost my only son. He joined as a newspaper boy eight months ago with a paper agent. He used to supply papers to the houses in our area. Today a paper boy who used to supply papers to a stall near Osmania University didn't come to work. So the paper agent under whom my son worked sent him to supply newspapers on behalf of the absentee.”
