More rains predicted for Hyderabad

The city appeared dark due to obstruction of the sun's rays. Rain and thundershowers began at around 9.30 am.

Warnings have been issued for very heavy rainfall today

Hyderabad: Monsoon rains of moderate intensity were experienced in the city on Wednesday. The sky was overcast during the morning hours due to upper air circulation and heavy cloud formation in the city and on the outskirts. 

The city appeared dark due to obstruction of the sun’s rays. Rain and thundershowers began at around 9.30 am. 

According to the regional weather bureau, the showers are likely to continue for another couple of hours. The spell of rain caused daytime temperatures to drop. The maximum temperature recorded on Wednesday was 27.4 degrees Celsius, four degrees below the normal average. 

Hyderabad has been experiencing dry weather for the past few days; however, other parts of Telangana have been receiving a good amount of rainfall. The city is expected to continue to receive light to moderate rainfall for a few days. 

As of September 5, Hyderabad has a ten percent rain surplus, but the state of Telangana, as a whole, has a deficit of 11 percent.

Thunderstorms and heavy rains are likely to occur in all districts of Telangana.

On Thursday, the city will experience cloudy skies with one or two spells of rain and thundershowers.
