Nizamabad: TRS MLAs representing Choppadandi, Warangal East and Chennur Assembly constituencies in north Telangana districts will have to wait for some more time to confirm whether they will be getting party tickets for the next elections.
The party high command reposed faith in all other sitting TRS MLAs, in the first list of 105 names that was announced on Thursday.
From the list, it is evident that the party believe that “Brand KCR” will help its nominees scrape through the ballot.
Replacing Chennur MLA Nallala Odelu, the party gave the ticket to Balka Suman (Peddapally MP). The party also kept on hold the names of its MLAs, Konda Surekha of East Warangal and Bodige Shobha of Choppadandi, for reasons unknown.
Enugu Ravinder Reddy got the ticket for sixth time. He had won four times and was defeated in the 2008 byelections. Mr Ravinder Reddy is among the party seniors from undivided Nizamabad district.
After foundation of the TRS, Mr Ravinder Reddy from Yellareddy, S. Santosh Reddy from Armoor and G. Ganga Reddy in Dichpally (now Nizamabad rural) won in the 2004 general elections. However, Mr Santosh Reddy and Mr Ganga Reddy left the TRS after differences with Mr Chandrasekhar Rao.
Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy and Government Whip Gampa Govardhan were elected on TRS tickets in 2012 byelections and the 2014 general elections from Banswada and Kamareddy Assembly constituencies respectively.
Jukkal, Armoor, Balkonda, Bodhan, Nizamabad Rural and Nizamabad urban MLAs—Hanmanth Shinde, A. Jeevan Reddy, V. Prashanth Reddy, Shakeel, Bajireddy Govardhan and Bigala Ganesh Gupta have been given the tickets for the second time.
There were speculations that two or three sitting MLAs will be dropped due to their performance.
The followers of the MLAs are in jubilant mood following their names being announced.
It is expected that celebrations will continue on Friday and rallies taken out by the supporters.
