Four-year-old drowning case: Locals removed nala cover leading to tragedy
Hyderabad: Bachupally police of Cyberabad commissionerate who are probing the death of four-year-old S. Mithun Reddy, who fell in a drain and got washed away, have altered the case with charges of an act endangering the life of any person (304A), after they found that the watchman of Spatial Gardenia apartment has removed the precast slab from the drain. Along with the watchman, the RWA president is also charged with negligence.
During the investigation, police checked the same CCTV which showed Mithun Reddy falling in the drain at around 11.20 am on September 5 and found that at around 8.20 am on the same day, one person removing the precast slab on the drain and keeping it aside and also another person standing by him, as if giving instructions to the first person. Later both are seen walking away.
On further inquiry, police found the apartment watchman identified as Bharat had removed the slab from the drain at the instructions of the RWA president Krishnaiah, to make way for the rainwater from the apartment.
Based on the evidence, the case has been altered and the details have been submitted to the court. Further investigation is in process, Bachupally SHO N. Sumar Kumar told Deccan Chronicle over the phone.
