Jagan to inaugurate Rs. 684 crore Srinivasa Setu elevated expressway: EO
Tirupati: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) executive officer (EO) A.V. Dharma Reddy on Wednesday said that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy would inaugurate the Srinivasa Sethu flyover, which was intended to provide swift and smooth transport to pilgrims and locals, in Tirupati on September 18.
After reviewing the last phase of pending works on Srinivasa Sethu with the officials of TTD and Municipal Corporation of Tirupati, the EO directed officials concerned to ensure the completion of works like cross barriers, modernisation of roads, central dividers, footpaths, painting, BT topping, etc. by September 15. He requested the civic body commissioner D. Haritha to commence trial runs from September 12.
The Srinivasa Setu elevated expressway project was grounded at a cost of '684 crore. It is being funded by the TTD and the Tirupati Smart City Corporation Limited at 67 per cent and 33 per cent ratio respectively. The elevated expressway corridor, which links the temple city from different directions, is aimed at providing a hassle-free channel for Tirumala-bound devotees and in easing the traffic congestion for the local residents.
