Kiran Bedi invites M Kandasamy to Raj Nivas before his New Delhi visit
In his letter to Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy, Kandasamy had announced his decision to fast in front of Parliament.
Puducherry: Puducherry Lt Governor Kiran Bedi invited welfare minister M. Kandasamy to Raj Nivas for a discussion ‘before going to New Delhi for the fast’.
“Before going to New Delhi for the fast, the minister is welcome to visit the Rajnivas any day for a discussion. I have invited him in writing. He could try meeting me first” Ms Bedi said in a Whatsapp message here.
In his letter to Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy, Kandasamy had announced his decision to fast in front of Parliament to condemn the Union Government for failing to rein in the Lt Governor. Complaining that he was not able to implement proposed welfare schemes due to the unnecessary intervention of the Lt Governor, the minister even expressed his desire to resign from the cabinet. He had requested the Chief Minister not to print his name, photo and departments in the government diary for the year 2018.
Replying to the allegations of the welfare minister, Ms Bedi said that she will be happy to show the minister some very interesting evidence they got before taking a decision to send to the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) of CBI. “Though I have already informed the vice chairman of the diversion of funds at the cost of money for scholarships. I am not sure if he has seen it. It may help him understand matters concerning people whose causes he proclaims to espouse but the decisions been taken by his department is to the contrary. He may choose to correct the direction? For the benefit of the underprivileged.” Said Ms Bedi in her message.
