Residents in Hyderabad oppose 2BHK houses plan
Those who are opposing the move stay in plots that are bigger than 50 square yards.
Hyderabad: Fifteen families staying in Silver Compound near Rasoolpura are opposing demolition of their houses to facilitate construction of 2BHK houses.
The authorities demolished more than 150 huts, some of which are housed in less than 15 square yards, with the consent of owners, who are mostly daily wage labourers. Those who are opposing the move stay in plots that are bigger than 50 square yards.
According to Mr B. Suresh, a private employee who is not ready to part with the land, the selection criteria was not proper.
“Those giving 10 square yards and those giving 50 sq. yards are both being allotted only one house. We are not happy with the allotment process,” he said.
Congress leader Krishank Manne visited the area after few a locals have complained about pressure from local TRS leaders to vacate the land. He said that no one could vacate them without their consent.
