Telangana to get 10 logistic parks
KTR gives TRS clean chit on farm land acquisition.
Hyderabad: Minister K.T. Rama Rao on Friday said that previous governments had snatched land from farmers and handed them over to corporates to further their own vested interests.
He said that the TRS government was adopting a different approach by seeking the farmers’ consent and offering them compensation in exchange for their lands.
He said that the TRS government was a pro-farmer government which only acquired land for developmental activities. The minister was speaking after laying foundation stones for logistic parks at Batasingaram and Mangalpally, on the outskirts of the city, on Friday.
Addressing a meeting at Batasingaram, Mr Rama Rao said that the TRS government would establish 10 more logistic parks. He predicted that Hyderabad would become the logistics hub of the country.
The logistis park at Batasingaram will be built on 40 acres with a budget of Rs 35 crore, and the one at Mangalpally will be built on 22 acres with a budget of Rs 20 crore in public-private partnership mode. The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) aims to inaugurate both parks within the next two years.
The HMDA has entered into agreements with the companies that have been awarded tenders for construction of the parks to allow operations to begin upon completion of nearly 60 percent of the work.
The logistics parks will offer world-class freight logistic support with warehouses, cold storages and parking facilities.
They will act as integrated one-stop facilities for freight operators, third-party service providers and cargo-handling firms.
