New Delhi: The Centre is all set to project the demonetisation exercise as a major victory against black money ahead of the first anniversary of the decision on November 8. Several top Union ministers and BJP leaders, led by finance minister Arun Jaitley, will travel to all the four metros as well as other major cities as part of a major media blitzkrieg to spread the message of the move’s benefits a year down the line.

The entire exercise is aimed at countering the united Opposition’s nationwide protests which it has planned across India against demonetisation on November 8.

During the next two days, while Mr Jaitley will hold an “Anti-Black Money Day” press conference in New Delhi on Tuesday (November 7), on the same day chemical and fertilisers minister Ananth Kumar, law minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and minority affairs minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi will simultaneously hold media interactions in Hyderabad, Bhopal and Amritsar respectively.

On November 8, the first anniversary of the demonetisation exercise, three Union ministers - highways minister Nitin Gadkari, commerce minister Suresh Prabhu and HRD minister Prakash Javadekar - will hold press conferences in Mumbai, Jaipur and Bengaluru.
