TPCC sends final list for high command nod
The Congress has decided to contest in 87 constituencies, of which the candidates for 55 seats were selected unanimously
Hyderabad: The Central screening committee of the Congress has declined to sacrifice more seats for the allies of the Mahakutami and has decided to confine the TD to 14 seats, the TJS to 8 seats and the CPI to 3 seats as it had decided earlier.
The list of Congress candidates for the 87 constituencies it is contesting was sent to the Central screening committee to be chaired by UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi. The AICC screening committee completed its final exercise on the candidates’ list on Tuesday night in presence of senior leaders of the TPCC.
The Congress has decided to contest in 87 constituencies, of which the candidates for 55 seats were selected unanimously. For the rest of the seats, the screening committee finalised two names each. The sorted list has been sent to the Central screening committee of AICC.
The list with two names for each constituency include the reserved constituencies and general category seats.
The Central screening committee will finalise the list of candidates on Thursday.
