AP challenges order on polls to panchayats
The bench said that it will hear the case on December 19 along with other petitions related to Local Body Elections.
Hyderabad: The AP government has moved an appeal before the Hyderabad High Court, challenging an order of a single judge to conduct elections to the gram panchayats within three months.
Advocate-general Dammalapati Srinivas submitted before a division bench comprising Chief Justice Thottathil B. Radhakrishnan and Justice S.V. Bhatt that the single judge had passed the directions without considering the earlier direction of the court with regards to enumeration of BC voters and allocation of reservations of wards to BCs before conducting elections to Gram Panchayat elections.
The bench said that it will hear the case on December 19 along with other petitions related to Local Body Elections, which were pending before the court.
