Chennai: Arterial stiffness test for heart diagnosis in city hospital
A 2-day awareness campaign is being held on December 8 and 9 for the public at Koncept Hospitals, Kodambakkam.
Chennai: Koncept Hospitals, Chennai, is introducing modern technology through Arterial Stiffness Index analysis to identify heart diseases early. One can try to avoid a heart attack by taking precautionary steps as in this test.
A 2-day awareness campaign is being held on December 8 and 9 for the public at Koncept Hospitals, Kodambakkam.
The test provides information regarding changes in arterial blood volume and vascular resistance by way of non-invasive, infrared light fingertip probe. The test only
takes one minute once started and provides info on heart rate variability, stress level and status of the autonomic nervous system.
"About 20 lakh people die of heart disease every year in India and 31% of all deaths are due to the diseases of circulatory system. As many as 4.5 crore people suffer from coronary artery diseases. For many people, their first cardiovascular symptom is a heart attack or stroke.
This is due to the fact that most of the time they are Asymptomatic and you cannot feel your arteries stiffen," said Dr.Sankar T.S.R.Mohanaselvan, founder, Koncept Hospitals said.
