Hyderabad: The Congress on Thursday alleged that police raided the house of an aide of TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy.
TPCC treasurer Gudur Narayana Reddy said that about 30 police personnel had raided the house of Mr Uttam Kumar Reddy’s personal assistant in Banjara Hills on Thursday morning. They found nothing, he said.
Alleging that the police was working for the TRS, Mr Narayana Reddy described this as a political vendetta. The Hyderabad police denied that any raid had been carried out.
Telugu Desam state president L. Ramana orally complained about the incident to the Election Commission, saying that the police was being biased.
Speaking to mediapersons Mr Ramana said, “We can understand the situation as the officials are raiding the houses that belong to TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy. The police has raided the house of his staff. As they did not find anything, they are not revealing it. Nowhere in the country does the police raid the houses of party presidents without proper information. This was done to harass and insult the TPCC president.”
