Lord's abode gears up for Vaikunta Ekadasi, Dwadasi

Nellore: The abode of Lord Venkateswara, Tirumala is full to its brim with devotees thronging the temple town from all parts of the country for the darshan of the Lord on the occasion of Vaikunta Ekadasi on Sunday and Dwadasi on Monday. The 16 compartments constructed on temporary basis at Narayanagiri gardens to accommodate 16,000 pilgrims have been overflowing with devotees on Saturday itself.

TTD officials said they have made elaborate arrangements including colourful flower and electrical decorations, shamianas and barricades have been organised at all the TTD sub shrines for smooth conduct of the celestial events. TTD EO Dr D. Sambasiva Rao said they are planning to start the Sarva Darshan for common pilgrims before 4 AM on Sunday. Speaking to media persons after inspecting the Narayanagiri gardens, he said Anna Prasadam, drinking water and buttermilk will be distributed to the devotees waiting in the queue lines. He said the Lord will be taken in a procession on Golden Chariot from 9 AM to 11 AM on Sunday.

According to information, RTC buses will ply round-the-clock on January 7, 8 and 9 for the benefit of pilgrims. No referral VIP letters for darshan and accommodation will be entertained and the Arjitha sevas are cancelled on January 8 and 9.

There are also no privilege darshans and no Divya Darshan tokens will be issued on January 8 and 9. Devotees are being allowed to enter inside compartments on January 7 after 9 am onwards only. All regular rituals of Kalyanotsavam, Kumkumarchana and Sahasra deepalankara sevas have been suspended on January 8.
