Don't Arrest Manchireddy, HC Tells Police

 Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court on Monday directed the police not to arrest former BRS legislator Manchireddy Kishan Reddy in a case registered against him at Ibrahimpatnam police station under the SC, ST (Prevention of Atrocities Act).

Police had registered the case on a complaint by Ibrahimpatnam municipal chairperson Kappari Sravanthi, who belongs to the dalit community. In her complaint, she alleged that Kishan Reddy and his son Prashant Reddy had taken Rs 2.5 crore from her to appoint her as the municipal chairperson during the 2019 elections. When she sought return of the money, they had abused her in the name of her caste.
