Demand for HC seen as a right for Seema

The Vijayawada Metropolitan Sessions Court has rejected the SIT petition to reopen Ayesha Meera's murder case.

KURNOOL: Rayalaseema High Court Sadhana Samithi (RHCSS) convener V. Nagalakshmi on Wednesday said that establishment of High Court was a legitimate demand of Seema advocates and public as the role played by leaders hailing from the region was remarkable in shaping the history of Andhra Pradesh.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has a chance to correct the historic wrong and demonstrate his statesmanlike qualities in clearing the issue, she added.

Speaking at a press conference, the co-convener of RHCSS said that as the response from government was lukewarm, she said that the Samithi had chalked out a program to enlist support of MLAs, MPs and other people's representatives and build up pressure on the government. Using the good offices of Deputy Chief Minister, AP Legislature council chairman and tourism inister, the Samithi plans to achieve its objective.

As the relay hunger strike was observed for 19th day on Wednesday, she said that the agitation would be broad based by enlisting the support of law students for the cause of High Court.

Meanwhile the boycott of the court continued on Wednesday as advocates were not seen in the court rooms.
