VIJAYAWADA: Telugu Desam (TD) chief N.Chandrababu Naidu has suggested panel speakers and party official spokespersons to be judicious while sharing information on various issues in TV debates. During his interaction with around 15 leaders, who frequent in TV shows on various issues, the CM has discussed at length over handling their alliance partner BJP in TV shows. In the wake of strained relations with the BJP, TD doesn’t want to exhibit a confrontation mode either with the BJP leaders or on any other development issues.

In fact, after the press conference of the Chief Minister a couple of days ago and with the recent developments, the party has been prompted to review the situation in order to maintain the status quo between Telugu Desam and the BJP.

The TD president had elicited the views of the panel speakers, who visit  TV studios to participate in debates, and advised them to be non-committal.

“We were asked to be away from confrontation mode with BJP spokespersons in the debates,” a TD leader said and added that the party chief wants to exhibit the tolerance levels of the Telugu Desam to the viewers of TV channels.

“Our president’s aim is that we have to voice our views on issues only not on the alliance partner BJP or its leaders,” the TD leader clarified and added that by organising the meeting with panel speakers, Telugu Desam has set a new trend.
“We, as Telugu Desam party, are very clear on our part,” another leader, who has attended the panel speakers’ meeting with the CM, said.

“The non-cooperative attitude of the Centre and the tolerance levels of Telugu Desam were the main points that came up for discussion during the meeting,” he said. Planning Board Vice- chairman Dr C. Kutumba Rao, Sravan Kumar, Yalamanchili Babu Rajendra Prasad, and MLC Budhha Venkana were among the panel speakers, who attended the meeting.
