TSICET scraps offline tests

The ICET convener Prof Subramanya Sarma informed that for the benefit of students a provision for appearing mock tests will be made.

More than 1.13 lakh students from over 500 engineering colleges appeared for the exam.

Warangal: The TSICET officials have decided to do away with the offline mode of examination from this year onwards. TS Council for Higher Education (TSCHE) chairman Prof T. Papi Reddy said the examination will be conducted in online mode.

He released the schedule for Telangana State Integrated Common Entrance Test (TSICET) - 2018 for admission into MBA and MCA courses offered by universities in the state here on Wednesday.

Kakatiya University will conduct the test for the eighth consecutive year. The test will be held on May 23 and 24 at sixteen regional centres in Telangana and AP in three sessions. There will be two sessions on May 23 and one session on May 24. The notification for the ICET-2018 will be issued on February 22. Submission and registration of online application forms will start on March 6 and the last date to do so without any late fee is April 30. For SC/ST candidates the fee is Rs 450 and the others have to pay '650 while submitting the applications.

Prof Papi Reddy informed that the state government’s TS online has entered into an understanding with Tata Consultancy Services for conducting the online test. TCS has already conducted the online examination in Andhra Pradesh and their expertise will come handy.

The students can appear for the tests any number of times free of cost from the time of submitting applications.Efforts are being to conduct the test in Urdu medium following the directions of the CM K. Chandrashekar Rao, said the TSCHE vice chairman Prof. V. Venkata Ramana.
