Hyderabad Police create green corridor for organs of brain dead donor

Two ambulances covered the 12.6 km distance between the two places in just 14 minutes.

Hyderabad: The city police created a green corridor to transport organs harvested from a brain dead donor A. Abhinaya, 14, at Yashoda Hospital, Malakpet, to the Begumpet airport on Thursday. Two ambulances covered the 12.6 km distance between the two places in just 14 minutes.

The organs that were donated by Abhinaya’s families included a pair of lungs, two kidneys and the liver.

The live organs were transported to PSG Hospitals, Coimbatore, through a chartered flight for transplant.
