New Delhi: The nation remained on high alert on Monday as security was at unprecedented levels amid intelligence warnings that 10 Lashkar and Jaish terrorists had entered India via Gujarat. As most of India celebrated Mahashivratri, home minister Rajnath Singh reviewed the internal security situation at a meeting attended by home secretary Rajiv Mehrishi, IB director Dineshwar Sharma and other top officials.

While there is a multi-city alert, there is no clue on the terrorists and no indication about their targets. A similar alert has also been sent to Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chandigarh, home ministry sources said.
