Nellore: Stage set for MLC polls tomorrow

Nellore/Chittoor/Ongole: Elaborate arrangements are being made for the smooth conduct of MLC election in East Rayalaseema segment, scheduled for Thursday. As many as 2,18,356 graduates and 20,121 teachers would exercise their franchise in 295 and 184 polling stations, respectively.

Political campaigns ended at 6 pm on Tuesday.  The Election Commission dir-ected officials to sanction special casual leave on Thursday for state/ central government employees who are electors in Prakasam, Nellore and Chittoor graduates’ and teachers’ constituencies to exercise their franchise. Similar instructions have been given to private firms also. Liquor shops in the three districts will be closed from 6pm on Tuesday to 6pm on Thursday.
