Trujet flight hit by snag

Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy said that SpiceJet would fly to Hyderabad and Vijayawada initially and services to Bengaluru, Kochi and Tirupati are in the offing.

Vijayawada:  A Trujet flight was forced to make an emergency landing at Gannavaram airport 10 minutes after taking off for Chennai. The plane was brought down safely after the pilots noticed smoke coming out from the engine.

According to the Gannavaram airport director G. Madhusudan Rao, a Spicejet flight was about to land at the time but considering the situation, they cleared the landing request for the Trujet plane. There were 38 passengers on board the flight heading for Chennai. Trujet has made alternative arrangements for some of the passengers while the remaining had to cancel their tickets.
