Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has decided to conduct a comprehensive survey to identify buildings which lack permission to proceed with construction.

The civic body would also seek the help of 100 engineers deployed from the National Academy of Construction (NAC) to make timely inspection and curtail new unauthorised constructions. The corporation would suspend officials if they failed to prevent unauthorised constructions.

According to the GHMC official, till date the corporation has identified unauthorised constructions verifying available records. The corporation checks the permissions and comes to a conclusion about the number of unauthorised constructions present in the city.

But there are several unauthorised structures which are constructed on full tank levels and buffer zones of city water bodies, government lands, endowment lands and others without obtaining any permission from the civic body.

Such structures would be inspected and demolished after conducting a comprehensive survey. Besides this, the corporation has also decided to check the number of unauthorised constructions within 200 square yards.

The civic body would deploy 100 engineers to verify the unauthorised constructions and submit a report prior to their demolition.

These engineers will also ensure that unauthorised constructions will not come up in the city and they are liable to be fired immediately if found neglecting their duties.
