SHRC orders probe against Sangareddy SI

The residents of Munipalli, in their petition to the commission stated that they owned fertile agricultural lands in the village.

The district police chief and Palakkad district collector have given a report to the State Human Rights Commission categorically stating that there is no caste discrimination against the Dalit Chakkaliya community in the Ambedkar Colony in Muthalamada.

Hyderabad: The State Human Rights Commission ordered the Sangareddy Superintendent of Police to submit a report on the alleged high-handedness of a Munipalli Sub Inspector, who was forcing farmers to sell off their lands to private firms. The SP was ordered to submit a report by July 19.

The residents of Munipalli, in their petition to the commission stated that they owned fertile agricultural lands in the village.

SI Koteshwar Rao had connived with private persons who were planning to set up industries in the village. They claimed that the SI had been harassing them to sell their lands to the businessmen and threatened them of dire consequences if they did not comply with the demands.
