Hyderabad: MIM president Asaduddin Owaisi on Sunday appealed to the people of Andhra Pradesh not to trust the propaganda being spread by AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu that YSRC president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy would join hands with the BJP after the elections are over.

While interacting with mediapersons here, he said a non-Congress non-BJP government would be formed at the Centre without the participation of the Telugu Desam. He said his “good friend” Jagan Mohan Reddy, would be the next Chief Minister of AP and his party would win more than 20 Lok Sabha seats in the state. Mr Owaisi said Muslims in AP did not trust the last-minute gimmicks of Mr Naidu of inducting a Muslim minister and promising the deputy chief minister’s post to a Muslim after the elections.

Asking why Mr Naidu maintained silence when mob lynchings took place in the country, Mr Owaisi said the people of Andhra Pradesh were tired of the dual standards of the TD chief and would vote for Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy.

The MIM chief said that after the elections, his party would support the YSR Congress in Parliament to get Special Category Status for AP. Mr Owaisi said the Muslims of AP still remembered Dr Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy for the benefits he had extended to them and would stand by the YSR Congress.

The MIM chief also extended his support to TRS’ Malkajgiri Lok Sabha candidate M. Rajasekhar Reddy of the TRS, when the latter met him along with his father-in-law and minister Ch Malla Reddy at his residence on Sunday.
