Father and son electrocuted in Vikarabad
The deceased were identified as M. Yadaiah and his son M. Raju.
Hyderabad: A 55-year-old man and his 21-year-old son were electrocuted in Vikarabad on Saturday. The mishap occurred when the two were trying to rescue their neighbour who was drying clothes in front of her house. The deceased were identified as M. Yadaiah and his son M. Raju.
Police said, Yadaiah and his son Raju, residents of Peerampally village in Ranga Reddy district were daily wage labourers. On Saturday morning, one of their neighbours, P. Lavanya 35, came out to dry clothes in front of her house on a cord tied from her house to a nearby electric pole. When she started placing the clothes on the cord she suddenly started shaking as electricity was present in the cord.
Yadaiah and Raju, who were getting ready for work saw this. “They pulled her away but were electrocuted,” Vikarabad SI P. Ravinder said. Both of them died on the spot. Lavanya, who suffered injuries, was rushed to hospital where she is said to be out of danger.
