Puducherry: In another heart wrenching news, father of a medical aspirant from Tamil Nadu who accompanied his daughter to write Neet died of cardiac arrest in Puducherry.

Srinivasan who had accompanied his daughter Swati to take the Neet died in government General Hospital due to cardiac arrest on Monday.

Srinivasan, 51, hailing from Angadipalayam area of Cuddalore district of Tamil Nadu along with his family,  had come to the city as his daughter had to appear for Neet.

On Sunday morning, Srinivasan was not feeling well and had chest pain. While waiting outside the examination centre he suffered a cardiac arrest as his daughter was writing the examination at Sarada Gangadharan college here. He was taken to the government general hospital here immediately where he was admitted to ICU.

The girl however, was not aware about the unfortunate event till the examination was over and was taken to hospital just after the examination was over.

Srinivasan was working at a private factory at Melvarathur and is survived by wife Amudha and two children.
