Hyderabad: Leopard kills cattle in Mudwin Reserve Forest

Count of animal deaths would be go beyond 15 if the dogs and other small animals are considered.

Hyderabad: For the ninth time in the last three months, a cattle was attacked by a leopard in the Mudwin Reserve Forest, according to forest officials.

In the early hours of Tuesday, a leopard sneaked near the Koshakonda hamlet to attack the cattle that was tied up in the fields. Forest officials estimate that the attack might have have between 3-4 am in the morning.

Amangal Forest Divisional Officer, Mr M. Janakiram said, “They have been trying to trap the leopard and accordingly putting camera traps as well in the places where the leopard attacked previously. We have also arranged a camera trap in the place where recent attack took place, if the leopard returns the it would be spotted.”

So far, the officials have compensated the eight cattle owners who lost their animal and the count of animal deaths would be go beyond 15 if the dogs and other small animals are also considered in the attack.
