30 per cent HRA hike for staff who shift to Amaravati
The AP govt issued orders to this effect as part of implementing the assurances given to employees for shifting to the capital area.
Hyderabad: Employees of the AP secretariat and Heads of the Departments who will shift to Amaravati from Hyderabad will receive 30 per cent House Rent Allowance (HRA), the same they are getting in Hyderabad. The AP government issued orders to this effect on Tuesday as part of implementing the assurances given to employees for shifting to the capital area. The state government has already issued orders on implementation of five-day work weeks for employees who shift from Hydera-bad to the capital region.
The employees’ association had brought to the notice of the AP government that as per the existing pattern, secretariat and HOD employees in Hyderabad were getting 30 per cent HRA, and requested to issue orders for continuation of the same for employees who migrate from Hyderabad to Amaravati or to the temporary administrative offices in the capital area. As per the orders issued on Tuesday, employees who shift will continue to draw the existing rate of HRA at 30 per cent of basic pay subject to a maximum of '20,000 for a period of one year.
These orders, however, do not apply to the AP Capital Region Develop-ment Authority staff and other local staff working in the Amaravati region. However, it has not been specified from when the new order will be implemented. Offic-ials said that the government will issue separate orders regarding the date of implementation.
