Minor girl, grandmother injured in acid attack in Goa

Panaji: A 16-year-old girl and her grandmother were injured in an acid attack allegedly by an unidentified person in Mapusa town near in Panaji this morning, police said.
The girl and her grandmother were asleep inside their home when an unknown person threw acid on them through the window, Deputy Superintendent of Police Mahesh Gaonkar told PTI.
Both of them sustained burn injuries and were rushed to district hospital in Mapusa. "We are investigating the case. The suspects are being rounded up. The accused will be arrested soon," Gaonkar said.
The victims live in Guirim village, located on the outskirts of Mapusa town.
