PMO clears AP local status file

Hyderabad: The Prime Minister’s office (PMO) has cleared the file related to local status issue and sent it to the President for his consent. State government officials have expressed the hope that the Centre will issue the notification on local status issue within a week after approval from President.

The AP government has requested the Centre to make two amendments in the presidential order relating to education and employment so as to safeguard the interests of children of state government employees while they shifted to capital city area from Hyderabad. The state government is expecting the notification on local status issue before the start of the shifting process and it will give confidence to the employees to shift.
