Bengaluru: The state unit of Youth Congress was rocked by resignations of four vice presidents and a secretary on the eve of Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi's visit to the city to participate in the general body of KPCC here on Monday.

In a letter to AICC and KPCC leaders, Kemparaja K, Rajendra Rajanna, K. Shivakumar and Soumaiya Tabrez, who were recently elected vice presidents, complained that they were meted out injustice during election of office bearers and therefore took the decision to quit. They demanded the removal of Amruth Gowda from the post of vice president while pointing out that he secured the fourth highest place. Along with them, secretary Umesh Bore Gowda, too, quit alleging that those who conducted the polls violated rules while picking Mr Amruth Gowda for the post. These leaders claimed that KPCC president, Dr G. Parameshwar, and working president, Dinesh Gundurao, were not happy with the turn of events in KPYCC.

In the light of several complaints, the top brass of Indian Youth Congress sent a team to inquire into issues listed in the complaints, but the newly elected office bearers were sworn in before the probe report could reach them. "This looks like the inquiry was an eye wash," these miffed leaders alleged. The new office bearers took oath at a function attended by KPCC president Dr G Parameshwar and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah with outgoing KPYCC president Rizwan Arshad attacking the NDA government headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for various failures.   Attempts, however, to reach Dr Parameshwar and Mr Gundurao provide futile    These irked leaders met IYC president Raja Amarinder Singh who assured he would look into the inquiry report and ensure justice.
