Telangana to get medical devices park

HYDERABAD: Telangana Medical Devices Park, a dedicated ecosystem for MedTech innovation and manufacturing, will be launched by the state government on June 17. The facility will come up in 250 acres at Sultanpur village, Patancheru mandal in Medak. Industries minister K.T. Rama Rao would lay foundation stone for the Medical Devices Park.
Currently, most medical devices are imported, which inflates the cost of healthcare in India. If the government wants to reduce healthcare costs, it is imperative to make the me-dical devices locally. The park will have facilities to support innovation, research and development, and industrial scale manufacturing. education, training, rese-arch and incubation facilities.
