Justice Radhakrishnan sworn in new Chief Justice of Hyderabad High Court
Justice Radhakrishnan is the first Chief Justice after state bifurcation.
Hyderabad: Justice Thottathil Bhaskaran Nair Radhakrishnan was on Saturday sworn in Chief Justice of the Hyderabad High Court. Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan administered the oath of office to Justice Radhakrishnan at a ceremony at Raj Bhavan in the presence of Chief Minister K. Chandra-sekhar Rao.
Justice Radhakrishnan is the first Chief Justice after state bifurcation. Justice Kalyan Sen Gupta assumed the office of Chief Justice of the AP High Court on May 21, 2013, and retired on May 6, 2015. Since then, the High Court has been functioning with an Acting Chief Justice. Justice Radhakrish-nan, formerly a judge of the Kerala High Court, began his practice as an advocate in 1983, in Thiruvananthapuram.
A native of Kerala, Justice Radhakrish-nan was born on April 29, 1959, at Kollam where he received his early education at St Joseph School and Government Boys’ High School. He studied law at KGF Law College. In his career spanning over three decades, he has practiced in different fields of law particularly civil, constitutional and administrative. He was appointed judge of the Kerala High Court in 2004 and worked as Acting Chief Justice of Kerala High Court in 2015. He was elevated as Chief Justice of the Chhattisgarh High Court in 2017.
