Jagan asks People to be Wary of Foxes

Anantapur: Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy compared opposition Telugu Desam and Jana Sena to a group of foxes trying to lure people with false promises to get power.

Addressing a meeting on Saturday in Kalyandurg coinciding with celebration of YSR Rythu Dinotsavam in Anantapur district, the CM maintained that the foxes led by TD chief N. Chandrababu Naidu and Jana Sena president Pawan Kalyan are out to topple Rythu Rajyam and cheat farmers.

“People of the state should be aware of such persons, who did nothing memorable when ruling Andhra Pradesh. Not a single welfare scheme of Naidu is in hearts of the people,” Jagan Mohan Reddy underlined.

On behalf of his government, he released ₹1,117.21 crore towards insurance claims, which will benefit 10.20 lakh farmers who have incurred crop losses in the 2022 Kharif season. The Chief Minister also formally inaugurated the multipurpose facilitation centre godowns and 52 Dr YSR Agri Testing Labs developed with an expenditure of ₹63.93 crore, taking up the number of labs across the state to 127.

Jagan Mohan Reddy maintained that farmers and their families still remember schemes like Aarogyasri, Jalayagnam, fee reimbursement, ambulance services and lakhs of houses constructed by former chief minister late Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy for the poor during his regime.

“We have named several welfare schemes after YSR to respect him and cherish his memories forever,” he underlined.

The Chief Minister asserted that AP is the only state where the government is implementing various unique welfare schemes for farmers. Other states and even experts from other countries are keenly observing implementation of the programmes in AP, he pointed out.

Jagan Mohan Reddy underlined that so far, 54.48 lakh farmers have got free insurance of ₹7,802 crore during the last four years, while the erstwhile TD government had only extended ₹3,411 crore to 35. 80 lakh farmers during its five-year rule.

He maintained that crop loss payment before the end of the season, zero interest scheme and Price Stabilisation Fund of ₹3,000 crore are helping farmers in a big way, he asserted. He pointed out that so far YSRC government has spent ₹40,000 crore, ₹1,965 crore, ₹1,835 crore and ₹1,100 crore on free power supply, crop loss, zero interest and YSR Yantra Seva Scheme respectively.

Responding to the appeal of minister Ushasri Charan, the Chief Minister announced release of ₹208 crore to acquire land as part of the ₹542 crore Bhairavanithippa project for irrigating uncultivated lands in Kalyandurg, Rayadurg and Uravakonda mandals. He also agreed to build community halls for various social groups.

MPs Talari Rangaiah and Gorantla Madhav and collector Gowthami were among those present at the programme.
