Lucknow: A 29-year-old woman from Moradabad village, who was allegedly given instant triple talaq by her husband and the forced to marry her father-in-law during ‘halala’, has again been shunned by her husband who believes that her child does not belong to him. The woman said that her husband remarried her after the ‘Iddat’ period but now says that the child belongs to his father who had ‘raped’ her during halala.

The victim, who has now approached a Bareilly-based NGO, Mera Haq Foundation, which has been fighting for victims of triple talaq and halala, said that she was ready for a DNA test and would approach the Supreme Court for reprieve. Narrating her story, the victim said that she was married to a businessman in 2014 and went to live with her husband in 2015 when the formal ‘rukhsati’ took place.

“During ‘rukhsati’, my in-laws demanded a car but the elders in the family intervened and they took me along. A few months later, I was sent back to my father’s house and then my husband gave me triple talaq on phone”, she said.
