Pawan Kalyan fans wreak havoc in hospital
The pandemonium reigned for a while before matters were brought under control by the management.
KURNOOL: Actor-turned-politician and Jana Sena Chief Mr Pawan Kalyan's visit to the Kurnool General Hospital on Monday, ostensibly to check on the quarry blast victims who were being treated there since Saturday, put the lives of patients in the critical care department at risk. As a large group of Mr Pawan’s fans rushed towards him, a near-stampede situation followed and in the melee, an oxygen pipe to the ICU was snapped. The pandemonium reigned for a while before matters were brought under control by the management.
A duty doctor in the super speciality ward said, "How can the politician be so irresponsible? He should have ensured security that would have warded off the fans. With the sudden snapping of oxygen, patients' lives were put at risk." When contacted, hospital superintendent Dr Chandrasekhar said, "It is true that the oxygen pipe was twisted and bent. We immediately identified the cause of oxygen snapping and got it repaired." Meanwhile one more quarry blast victim succumbed to injuries on Tuesday taking the total dead to 11.
