Salem: In a noble gesture and pleasant surprise for students of a primary school, Salem District Collector Rohini R. Bhajibhakare took lessons for them on Thursday even as teachers skipped class to participate in a protest called by a section of the government employees.
The collector, who was returning after inaugurating a tree plantation programme, stopped her car at a primary school in Rajapalayam village near Mallikarai and took English lessons for students. She taught students for about 15 minutes. The students felt enthused to learn good English from the woman collector.
