Gauri case: SIT gets Gondelkar's custody
Gondelkar was arrested by Maharashtra ATS last month for possession of cache of ammunition and explosives.
Bengaluru: The first ACMM court on Friday remanded Sudhanva Gondelkar's, 39, a native of Pune, to 14-day SIT custody in connection with the assassination of senior journalist and activist Gauri Lankesh.
Gondelkar was arrested by Maharashtra ATS last month for possession of cache of ammunition and explosives.
The SIT wanted to interrogate Gondelkar, who allegedly provided weapons to Gauri’s killers. They also suspect he waited near Gauri's house on the fateful day (September 5, 2017) to shoot her, in case Parashuram Waghmore missed his target.
SIT took Gondelkar’s custody from a Mumbai prison on Thursday night. They took him to an undisclosed destination and interrogated him.
Maharashtra ATS had on August 10 arrested Gondelkar, along with Sharad Kalaskar and Vabhav Raut.
