MK Stalin could not find fault with my government: Edappadi K Palaniswami

DHARMAPURI: Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami took a dig at leader of the opposition and DMK working president M. K. Stalin, who persistently criticised his government, by claiming that Stalin could not find fault with the AIADMK government. Addressing a function got up government arts and Science College here on Saturday to commemorate the birth centenary of AIADMK founder and former CM M.G. Ramachandran, Mr Palaniswami said despite Stalin attempting to find fault with the ruling AIADMK "using a magnifying glass" he could not find any blemish.
"Even during MGR's rule the opposition made much ado about the law and order issue as being made now. But MGR overcame it without any difficulty," Mr Edappadi said and indicated that DMK's allegation on law and order now did not hold water. 744 dengue prevention camps held in 10 days: Turning to serious issue of dengue scare that has been enveloping the state, the CM while listing out the measures being taken to prevent the spread of the virus said the government conducted 744 special dengue prevention camps throughout TN in 10 days.
"The government is taking measures on war footing to control the fever. We have spent Rs 23.50 crore for purchasing blood testing devices for government hospitals across the state to identify fever and initiate treatment without wasting time," he said. About 45,000 mazdors including 15,000 newly appointed workers were engaged in the Dengue prevention and control measures and in addition 1,113 doctors and 1,394 medical specialists were also appointed to overcome the shortage of doctors in hospitals in the state. He announced 28 new schemes for Dharmapuri including the Ennekal pudur thittam to which the Krishnagiri farmers have raised their voices against the project for diverting south pennar river water to Dharmapuri. Krishnagiri farmers are against the project since that was announced for the benefit of Dharmapuri farmers. The issue was raised because the objecting farmers are afraid of losing their livelihood if the South Pennar water is shared with their counterparts in Dharmapuri. The CM also inaugurated new government buildings built across the district at the cost '1,044 crore and handed over welfare schemes to the beneficiaries worth Rs 183.99 crore.
